Hello!

First of all, we cross multiply, giving us the equation below.

3(b+1)=2

3b+3=2

We subtract 3 from both sides.

3b=-1

We divide both sides by 3/

b= [tex] -\frac{1}{3} [/tex]

Therefore, our answer is A) - 1/3

I hope this helps!

Multiply both sides by 2:

b+1 = 2/3

b=2/3-1
