To multiply fractions, multiply straight across. Multiply the numerators and the denominators. Multiply 56 times 42 and 7 times 7.

[tex]\frac{56*42}{7*7} = \frac{2352}{49}[/tex]

You can simplify 2352/49 even more by dividing 2352 by 49. 2352/49 = 48, so your answer is 48.
