What goals does the government hope to achieve by regulating banks?

I believe the answer is: To make sure that no one taking or having to much money then usual

When the money that circulated in the market is uncontrolled, the value of the currency could took a hit and inflation occurs. Because of this, the federal government put a regulation  to the banks regarding the interest rate and the reserve that they can have.
