F(x) = (x – 8)(x + 3)?

We can re-write this equation as:

y = (x – 8)(x + 3)

At the y-intercept, x = 0

Put x = 0 in the above equation

y = (0 – 8)(0 + 3)

y = (-8)(3)

y = -24

The y-intercept is -24

and the point where the curve cuts the y-axis is (0, -24)
