1. You have two different possibilities for x-values:

  • x≤1;
  • x>1.

As you know 0<1, then for x=0 should be used the top part of function [tex]y=x^2.[/tex]

2. If you know that [tex]y=x^2,[/tex] then

[tex]y(0)=0^2=0.[/tex]
