At first it was not evident that Peyton Farquhar, the protagonist of the book  “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" was dreaming his escape. But there are several hints that suggest that this is actually happening during the narration of the story. Most of the readers start suspecting this by the appearance of the perfectly tree-lined road that leads to the house of Farquhar, while he was already experiencing a swollen tongue and intense neck pain.
