Answer-

The selling price of the CD is $12

Solution-

Given that, a guitarist earns a royalty of 22% of the selling price of a CD, which is $2.64.

Let us assume that the selling price of the CD is x

So the royalty he would be getting after each sell is,

[tex]=x\times \frac{22}{100} =\frac{22x}{100}[/tex]

According to the question,

[tex]\Rightarrow \frac{22x}{100}=2.64\\\\\Rightarrow x=2.64\times \frac{100}{22}=\frac{264}{22}\\\\\Rightarrow x=12[/tex]

Therefore, the selling price of CD is $12
