Siddhartha was a man who lived in the 6th century B.C., known today as Buddha or the enlightened one. He believed that the true path of enlightenment was D. following a middle way, not the extremes of the ascetic life or the wealthy life. He tried both this ways but realized that enlightenment had very little to do with the flesh and material world, and it had more to do with the spiritual life.
