x=-7/8 is the correct answer. First you had to add by 1 from both sides of equation, and it gave us, [tex]8x-1+1=-8+1[/tex]. And then simplify, and it gave us, [tex]8x=-7[/tex]. You can also divide by 8 from both sides of equation, and it gave us, [tex]\frac{8x}{8}=\frac{-7}{8}[/tex]. And finally simplify, and it gave us the answer is x=-7/8 is the correct answer. Hope this helps! And thank you for posting your question at here on brainly, and have a great day. -Charlie
