The point-slope form:

[tex]y-y_1=m(x-x_1)[/tex]

We have the slope m = 4 and the point (2, 1). Substitute:

[tex]y-1=4(x-2)[/tex]      use distributive property

[tex]y-1=(4)(x)+(4)(-2)[/tex]

[tex]y-1=4x-8[/tex]        add 1 to both sides

[tex]\boxed{y=4x-7}[/tex]
