Explanation:

This parasite is mostly transmitted by a mosquito vector.  The parasite resides in the liver of the host  (as merozites) where they emerge to infect the red blood cells. The infected cells lyse releasing more sporozoites of the parasite that infect even more RBCs. This is what causes the symptoms of malaria that include chills, fever, fatigue, and headaches.
