Khrushchev introduced de-Stalinisation to protect his own position by getting rid of Stalin's old supporters in the party, thus removing  old Stalinists in order to establish his own power base. This made the soviet union under Krushchev fall, therefore leaving the distracted united states unaware of the nuclear testing going on there, hope this was helpful have a great day!
