Energy released from changing the phase of a substance from the gas phase to liquid phase can be calculated by using the specific latent heat of vaporization. Calculation are as follows:

 Energy = 87.7 g (1 mol / 17.04 g) x 23.4 kJ/mol

 

Energy = 120.4 kJ
