We can often solve inequalities by adding (or subtracting) a number from both sides (just as in Introduction to Algebra), like this:

Solve: x + 3 < 7. If we subtract 3 from both sides, we get: ...

Solve: 3y < 15. If we divide both sides by 3 we get: ...

Solve: −2y < −8. ...

Solve: bx < 3b.
