The absolute value of anything (which can be written as |x|) always equals

[tex]\geq 0[/tex]

So an equation can be written as [tex]|x|=\geq 0[/tex]

However, if you get a specific equation, such as

x = |5 - 8 + 2|

There is only one specific solution.

Even though you get

x = |-1|

The answer is always positive because of the absolute value so that means

x = 1.

So that means a TYPICAL equation with a specific answer always has ONE solution.
