Add 3 to x subtract the result from 1 then double what you have

If you add 3 to x you have [tex]3+x[/tex]

Subtract this from 1: [tex]1-(3+x)=1-3-x=-2-x[/tex]

Double this: [tex]2(-2-x)=-4-2x[/tex]
