We have to solve the system of equations

Add eqn 1 and eqn 2

-3y + 5x = 26

-2y - 5x = -16

(+) ------------------

-5y = 10

y = -2

Substitute y = -2 in eqn 1

-3(-2) + 5x = 26

6 + 5x = 26

5x = 26 - 6

5x = 20

x = 4

Thus solution is x = 4 and y = -2
