distance between the points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is
D=[tex] \sqrt{(x1-x2)^2+(y1-y2)^2} [/tex]


distance between points ((5,8) and (-3,4) is
D=[tex] \sqrt{(5-(-3))^2+(8-4)^2} [/tex]
D=[tex] \sqrt{(8)^2+(4)^2} [/tex]
D=[tex] \sqrt{64+16} [/tex]
D=[tex] \sqrt{80} [/tex]
D=4√5 units

AB=4√5 units
