1 Remove parentheses.

3d-2=d+5

2 Add 22 to both sides.

3d=d+5+2

3 Simplify  d+5+2  to  d+7.

3d=d+7

4 Subtract d from both sides.

3d-d=7

5 Simplify  3d-d to  2d.

2d=7

6 Divide both sides by 2.

7/2=d

7 Flip sides.

d=7/2

(Optional decimal form)

d=3.5

So 7/2 or 3.5
