ans: x= 11/4 and y= 11/8

Step-by-step explanation:

4x=6y=6 mean

4x= 6 and 6y= 6 so, 6-6=0 i.e

4x - 6y = 0 say equation ....1

and given

2x + 5y = 11 say equation ....2

to solve by eliminating methods,

multiply equation....2 by 2 and subtract from ....1

i.e

4x - 6y =0

4x + 10y= 22

(-) (-) (-)

0+ (-)16y = - 22

y = -22/-16

y = 11/ 8

to get , x put y in either equation 1 or 2

I.e x= 11/4

this value of x and y satisfy both equations
