Solve both equations for 2y :

2y + 5x = 13   ==>   2y = 13 - 5x

2y + 3x = 5   ==>   2y = 5 - 3x

Solve for x :

13 - 5x = 5 - 3x

8 = 2x

x = 4

Solve for y :

2y = 13 - 5×4

2y = -7

y = -7/2

As an ordered pair, the solution is then the point (x, y) = (4, -7/2).
