We have
[tex] \frac{6x-1}{5}= \frac{3}{1} [/tex]     /*5     multiply both sides times 5
6x-1=3*5
6x-1=15   /+1
 6x=15+1
 6x=16        /:6
 x=[tex] \frac{16}{6}=2 \frac{4}{6} =2 \frac{2}{3} [/tex]
