the supreme court can intervene(interfere) or come in between any disputes or conflict at all as long as all other court cannot solve the problem (like the high, magistrate court etc) and since the supreme court is the highest court it is their last hope and their decisions are final and they can handle conflicts between states (which is a big deal) than any other court because they are supreme(highest) court.
