A cone has a radius of 24cm and a volume of 1,920cm. What is the volume of a similar cone with a radius of 18cm?

The explanation:

The radius of smaller cone is 3/4 the radius of the original cone, so since these cones are similar, height must also be 3/4 smaller.

So since radius is squared and we also multiply the height (V = 1/3 π [tex]r^{2}[/tex] h),

The volume of smaller cone would be [tex]3^{3}[/tex] / [tex]4^{3}[/tex] = 27 / 64 smaller
