how does tragedy develope tone and theme in a text?​

Im guessing the answer is something like: tragedy develops a sad tone in which it makes 'us' the readers feel emotional and has an overall depressing aura. This also helps develop the theme because tragedy is strong enough to get a poiont across, and ultimately has a meaning.
