The use of a more nuanced chiaroscuro in the bas-relief, and the use of placing the figures in a three-dimensional space with regards to the perspective of the viewer, had been the most important trends in Flavian art.
During the Flavian dynasty in the Roman empire in he period of 69-96 A.D., a new form of portrait painting had emerged called as, Flavian art.
In this period it also had experienced monumentisation, of the Palatine Hill, the most grand palace of Domitian, constructed by the architect Rabirius, included three parts namely,
the Domus Flavia, the Domus Augustana, and the gardens.
The architecture development is seen important as, it had implemented many new techniques of construction as;
the use of Hemospherical domes or the Domus Transitoria, and the development of rib vaults, and use of ogives with brick arches in series, the development of barrel vaults which were around 33 meters in diameter.
