I think the cake probably has 24 pieces. You can divide 24 into 2, 3, and 8.

The answer is 24.

Half of 24 is 12.

1/3 of 12 is 4, so 4 minus 12 is 8.

1/8 of 8 is 1.

So that would leave 1 slice.

Therefore the answer is 24.
