What are the differences and similarities of constantinople and rome?

There were quite a few. The Byzantines took a lot from the Romans. The primary differences were that Rome followed Roman Catholicism, whereas Constantinople followed Orthodox Christianity. The official language of Rome was also Latin (I think) where for Constantinople it became Greek (I think)
