So, you can use substitution to solve this. Since y=3+x you can plug it into the first equation. (3+x)^2+2x^2=22. Simplifying, 9+6x+x^2+2x^2=22, 3x^2 + 6x = 13. You can turn this into 3x^2 + 6x - 13 = 0. Simplify and find the zeroes.
