Standard equation of hyperbola is [tex] \frac{x^{2} }{ a^{2} } - \frac{ y^{2} }{ b^{2} } = 1[/tex].

Comparing given info with standard equation, we get
a(vertices)= +3 and -3
foci = [tex] \sqrt{ a^{2} + b^{2} } = \sqrt{9+16} = \sqrt{25} =5[/tex].
