Discriminant analysis is a data-mining technique used for classifying a set of observations into predefined classes.
This type of an analysis uses a set of linear functions of the predictors (known as discriminant functions) so as to categorize each of these observations into their respective classes which have been already determined for them prior to the whole analysis.
