Jade scores 14 points
Kelly scores 8 more points than Jade
Lucy scores twice as many points as Mel
Mel scores 7 points fewer than Kelly
The total number of points scored is 100
How many points did Nicky Score?

j=14, k=(14+8), l=2(k-7), m=(14+8)-7

j=14, k=22, l=2(22-7), m=22-7

j=14, k=22, l=30, m=15

And we are told that j+k+l+m+n=100, using j,k,l, and m found above:

14+22+30+15+n=100  combining like terms on left side

81+n=100  subtract 81 from both sides

n=19

So Nicky scored 19 points.
