Adams-Onis Treaty also known as the Transcontinental Treaty or Florida Purchase Treaty or just the Florida Treaty, was a treaty between the United States and Spain. The treaty was made in 1819 and it defined the boundary between the U.S and New Spain. This settled the long standing border dispute between the two countries.
