Provide an example of a formula used in everyday situations. Explain it's usefulness and what happens if the formula is not used correctly.

In the life of a cardboard box maker, they must be able to use a surface area formula in order to properly package an item. If they do not get the measurements right, then they are horrible at their job and might get fired.
