X = the number of adults to attend in prom
=> x+477 (number of students)

According to the given problem students are 10x more than the adults. To get the number of the adults who will be attending, we’ll multiply the number of adults to 10.
=> x+477=10x
=>10x-x = 9x
=>477=9x
=> 477 / 9 = 53
Therefore, the number of adults is 53.
the ratio is 53:477
