speed = distance / time

Here, speed = 6.4 meters  /  4 minutes  =1.6 meter / minute (answer)

The formula for speed is S = Distance/Time.
if you plug 6.4 in for distance and 4 in for time, s = 6.4/4. 6.4/4 = 1.6, so the speed of the tortoise is 1.6 meters per second, or 1.6 m/s
