Nelson Mandela appointed Thabo Mbeki to deal with the aids problem in Africa, but Mbeki was an aids denialist who didn't believe that HIV caused aids. This caused a huge problem when Mbeki succeeded Mandela and he wouldn't approve treatment to HIV and AIDS patients, including r ape victims and pregnant women.
