The two major volcanic regions are the Island Arc and Ring of Fire. Ring of Fire is a major volcanic belt that rim the Pacific Ocean. It is formed by many volcanoes. Thus, the name Ring of Fire. Island Arc is a string of islands formed by the volcanoes along a deep ocean trench.
