-2x+y=0;
5x+3y=-11
-------------------------
Solve the first equation
-2x+y=0
Add 2x to each side
-2x+y+2x=0+2x
y=2x
------------------
Now substitute 2x for y in
5x+3y=-11
5x+(3)(2x)=-11
11x=-11
---------------------------
Divide each side by 11
11x / 11 = -11 / 11
x = -1
===================================================================
To find Y
Substitute -1 for the x in y = 2x
y=(2)(-1)
y = -2
-------------------------------
X = -1 and Y = -2
