The answer would be D. 1/18 because since 5/12 + 1/4 is in parenthesis, the order of operations states that whatever is in parenthesis in an expression, you do first. So 5/12 + 1/4 is equivalent to 2/3 and then 1/2 divided by 2/3 gives you  0.08333333333 which is simplified to 1/18 which is letter D.
