Hello there! For this case, in order to simplify the expression, all you have to do is the distributive property. 4 is outside of the parenthesis, so we must multiply that by the terms in the parenthesis. 4 * 7x is 28x. 4 * 5y is 20y. There are no like terms in this case, so it stays put. There. The expression simplified is 28x + 20y.
