1.       Solve for Hector and Myrna’s rate:
Hector earns $24 dollars / 3 hours.
Myrna earns $17 dollars / 2 hours of work.

Let’s solve for HECTOR’s rate
=> 24 dollars for 3 hours
To get the rate divide 24 by 3 to get the hourly rate
=> 24 / 3 = 8
=> 8 dollars / hr
Solve for Myrna’s rate
=> 17 dollars for 2 hour
Divide 17 / 2 to get the rate
=> 17 / 2
=> 8.5 dollars / hour.
