Let the number be 'x'

1)
[tex]x - 5 > 25[/tex]
Plus 5 on both sides
[tex]x > 30[/tex]
2)
[tex]x + 18 \leqslant 20[/tex]
Minus 18 on both sides
[tex]x \leqslant 2[/tex]
