we know that
3 2/4  -------------> is (3*4+2)/4--------> 14/4-------> 7/2
2 2/3 --------------> is (2*3+2)/3--------> 8/3

if a new washing machine used 7/2 gallons of water ------------> one full load cloths
 X gallons of water------------------------------------------------------> 8/3 of load cloths
X=(8/3)*(7/2)---------> X=56/6------->28/3 gallons of water
28/3--------> 9 1/3 gallons of water

the answer is

9 1/3 gallons of water
