Amelia Jenks Bloomer was an American advocate for women's rights and the temperance movement against the consumption of alcoholic beverages. She was the editor of the newspaper The Lyli with the slogan "Dedicated to the interests of women" in which the voices of women and their demands were spread. Her name was associated with the style of female clothing known as "Bloomer's", which consisted of a long tunic slightly fastened to the waist and pants fitted to the ankle.
