The above statement is true, that when aldosterone release is inhibited  sodium reabsorption can not occur beyond the distal convoluted tubule. Aldosterone stimulates the reabsorption of sodium while enhancing potassium secretion. Aldosterone is a steroid hormone produced by the zona glomerulosa of the adrenal cortex in the adrenal gland.
