Simon's teacher gave him a pencil at the end of week because he did so well on the spelling test. As a result, his grades continue to get better each week. This is an example of which of the following?

Positive reinforcement
Negative reinforcement
Punishment
Classical conditioning

I'm pretty sure its Positive reinforcement.
This is positive reinforcement, positive being that they’re giving him something instead of taking something away. (You can have negative reinforcement where they are encouraging a behaviour by taking something away. Taking away homework for the night, for example.) It’s reinforcement because it is trying to convince Simon to keep up the good behaviour.
