The 8th stage of Erik Erikson's hypothesis of psychosocial advancement is Integrity versus despair and this also the last phase. This stage starts at roughly age sixty-five and closes at death. Erikson's hypothesis proposes that individuals go through eight formative stages as they develop and change through life.
