Well, there are 3 feet in a yard, therefore there are 6 feet in two yards.

1 yard is equal to 3 feet

2 yards = 1 yard
    x          3 feet


(3 feet)(2 yards) = (1 yard)(x)

6 feet yard = x
     yard

x= 6 feet
